My name is Gabriel from Oakland California. For (too) many years my huge fear of flying prevented taking a plane to the tropical islands we all read about. Caribbean vacations were always a dream that would never seem to come true. Unless of course I could deal with my nasty fear somehow. Friends and family, colleagues from work, they all came home from their abroad vacations while my wife Lily and I were assigned to our RV for road trips across the country. I guess Lily had been sacrificing her dreams a bit to much too here.
That is until our RV broke down one year, written off and ready for the scrapyard. I still remember how I felt that day. No money for a new one and our vacation plans down the drain. What to do now? We both were so frustrated. In my case, frustration often results in unclear thinking and before I realized it I had spoken the words "I make it up, we go to Punta Cana!" Ouch, did I really say that? I guess I did!
... I still remember the sweat on my forehead sitting in my seat looking out the window and wondering if that wing would be strong enough for a takeoff. Was my fear finally gone? No in the contrary. But the beauty of Punta cana is so addictive that it became stronger than my fear. Next year we celibate our wedding anniversary at the Punta Cana Majestic resort and I am proud to call myself a regular airplane passenger now.
Just another Punta Cana fanatic
Gabriel
